Python

KHME®REAM is completely written with Python. Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language. It is often compared to Tcl, Perl, Scheme or Java. Python combines remarkable power with very clear syntax. It has modules, classes, exceptions, very high level dynamic data types, and dynamic typing. There are interfaces to many system calls and libraries, as well as to various windowing systems (X11, Motif, Tk, Mac, MFC, wxWidgets). New built-in modules are easily written in C or C++. Python is also usable as an extension language for applications that need a programmable interface.

Django

KHME®REAM is developed based on Django framework. Django is an open source web application framework, written in Python, which loosely follows the model-view-controller design pattern. It was originally developed to manage several news-oriented sites for the World Company of Lawrence, Kansas, and was released publicly under a BSD license.

Khmer Unicode

The Khmer Software Initiative is a joint project of the National Information Communications Technology Development Authority (NiDA) of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Open Institute. The Khmer Software Initiative is part of the necessary work for the accomplishment of the Government's Master Plan for the Implementation of Open Source Software in Cambodia. KHME®REAM uses many Khmer unicode fonts created by KhmerOS.
